HealthCare Data Management (HDM) Services

AdvantageMS offers three distinct areas of data management services, which can be applied individually, or in a complete solution package developed specifically to meet the individual and growing needs of pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms. They are Data Cleansing, Data Enhancement and Data Management.

HDM Services are central to all other analytical, operational and data services offered by AdvantageMS. Other services, such as validation, profiles, sampling, sales force automation, and accountability seamlessly integrate into HDM Services.


Data Cleansing


HDM Services runs a bank of cleansing processes against any incoming client data set. We apply various processes such as:

  • Parsing, Standardization and Transformation of Provider and Account attributes, to include:
    • Name (including First, Middle, Last, Suffix, Title, Degree)
    • Degree
    • Specialty
    • Phone and Fax Number
    • Medical School
  • Standardization and Correction (“Scrubbing”) of Postal Addresses

Data Enhancement


HDM Services can provide our clients with the ability to enhance, or augment, their internal customer data. We offer services such as:

  • Matching to the AMS Healthcare Customer Master (AccuMatch™)
  • Record De-Duplication
  • State License Identifiers, Organizational Identifiers
  • Affiliation of providers to Accounts (such as Group Practice, Hospital, Long Term Care, etc.)
  • Best Call Address, Best Mail Address
  • Alternate Names, Phone Numbers, Fax Numbers, Email Addresses
  • Flags for CASS Certification, Delivery Point Validation of Postal Addresses
  • Latitude/Longitude and Census Block data for Postal Addresses
  • Clerk Resolution and Research for various purposes (an example would be Dead/Retired Validation)
  • Phone Number Area Code Correction
  • National Change of Address (NCOA)
  • Proper-Casing

Data Management


The AMS Healthcare Customer Master is comprised of data from many sources that are cleansed, standardized, matched, cross–referenced and updated on a daily basis. Among other things, this Customer Master is used to maintain a client’s internal customer masters, SFA transactions, web portal transactions, mailing lists, etc. in a client data warehouse located either at the client’s site (which can be updated as frequently as daily) or at AMS. Data feeds can be in a transaction form, or simply just a record set. On the client’s behalf, AMS will apply our Data Cleansing and Enhancements services, and additionally apply data management services such as:

  • Client Identifiers
  • Duplicate Flag and Duplicate Identifier
  • Record Status
  • Attributes (including a “best one” status as per client’s business rules)
  • Called-On Status
  • Territory Assignment
